Dear Laura,  once again we are writing to thank you for allowing us to stay at Giardino Due once more.
 As always, it felt like coming home!   Good to see Nicoletta again , looking so well.  We had a wonderful 
time. Venice was so quiet,  I have pics of the Canale with nothing on it!!  And we had to find new places
 to eat, a lot of our usual haunts were closed for the post- New Year period. But find good places we did ! 
 And the Cantinetta in San Giacomo del Orio, is a great place. The manager is great fun and makes superb 
cicheti !  A good place to have a lunchtime snack , some wine , after a morning walking around the city!
  We visited Burano, San Giorgio Maggiore, Madonna del Orto, the Carpaccio San Giorgio series in Castello,
 and found an unknown ( to us ) church San Lazzaro, the hospital chapel on the Fondamenta Mendicanti. 
 All in all, perfect. We also visited the Torre D'Horologio.

Hopefully we will visit Venice again .

We thoroughly enjoyed our second time in this pleasant apartment. We were given a warm welcome by you who clearly do everything to make sure we have a pleasant stay. Both the apartment and garden are beautiful and carefully renovated and maintained. We love the quiet sestiere of Santa Croce, especially walks along the beautiful Rio Marin. There are many small osterie in the area offering very good food and of course we stopped at our favourite pasticceria every day. We love walking, but the vaporetto stop is very close to the apartment. And of course the best time to take a ride towards San Marco along the Canal Grande is in the evening when all the lights come out.

Beautiful apartment in excellent location away from crowds and not far from vaporetto stop. Garden was lovely to sit and have breakfast and lunch. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment for two persons.

I have been staying in this lovely house this week — still as lovely as ever with a divine walled garden —   you have really thought of everything and the apartment I have been staying in has been a perfect bolthole…….plus  the wifi works perfectly!  I have been fascinated to rediscover the lovely small shops in the area, and the quiet canal side dining is superb.  It’s the oldest sestiere of Venice where the University of Venice was founded….. completely charming and lovely

Excellent. We have been there three years running now and have no complaints at all. We like the location of the place, not too far from (but not too close to) the station and with a convenient vaporetto stop and its local character, with some good restaurants nearby.

The apartment was very clean and the kitchen had everything needed. The garden was a delight. The linen provided was wonderful – table cloths etc. The bedroom was a good size and quiet. The area is one of the best to stay in because it is quiet and a very short walk from a square used by Venetians – in the evening you can sit and watch all the families out playing and chatting. The furniture is of a superior kind usually found in rented apartments. The area is very safe and the apartment has good security. This apartment has been furnished and designed with no expense spared and is ideal for two people.

Just a note to say we had a wonderful time at Santa Croce Giardino. The apartments were stunning and beautifully prepared, well equipped and clean and the garden was absolutely superb. The maid was very helpful and friendly (despite our language difficulties) and we met the owner who persuaded us to explore the Italian mountains. It was just so good to live like residents in such a quiet and family oriented corner of Venice away from other tourists. We loved seeing all the children and families playing on the local piazza. And we were thrilled by the people passing who sighed “Wow!” when they passed, as they saw our garden when we opened the garden door. We shall be visiting Venice again and hopefully taking another of your fabulous apartments. Thank you.

We stayed in Santa Croce Giardino Due in October and we were very happy with our choice of accommodation. The apartment is beautifully renovated and well equipped. It was also just the right size for a family of three. We met the friendly Nicoletta upon arrival as agreed and she explained us the details about the flat and also showed us the lovely walled garden. We soon found our way to the nearby Campo San Giacomo dell’ Orio and to the small but very well stocked local Coop store. We like cooking Italian food and wherever in Italy we go we are always curious to see what the locals buy! Grocery bags filled with bread and cheeses, prosciutto, fresh fruit and vegetables and pasta we made our way back to the flat for lunch. We then enjoyed coffee in the sun in the lush garden. The hydrangeas and the camellia were still blooming in late October. A lovely start for the holiday. Later we also found a good family run osteria right off Calle Orsetti and a nice cafe, a bar and even a pasticceria along the nearby Rio Marin. While exploring Venice we came to appreciate the location of this flat. The closest vaporetto stop at Riva di Biasio on Canal Grande is just round the corner making it very easy to access different parts of town. Naturally, the vaporetto ride along Canal Grande is an interesting experience in itself and especially beautiful in the evening. The flat is also within convenient walking distance from the lovely and spacious Campo di San Polo and from there it is easy to continue walking either towards the busy Rialto area or towards the magnificent Basilica dei Frari and Scuola Grande di San Rocco. This part of Santa Croce is a perfect area for anyone appreciating a quiet and easy location for exploring and enjoying Venice. On our day of departure, we had a nice chat with the owner of the apartment who, upon hearing that we were going to leave by train, told us that the trains were on strike on that day. He then very kindly offered to help in case we’d be unable to leave and in need of accommodation for another day. In the end, we did catch our train as planned but would like to thank him very much anyway. Looking at the map of Venice now while writing this I notice that I have circled the location of the flat and written ‘home’ next to it. We clearly must return!

I want to tell you how very impressed indeed my partner and I were with our two-week stay at Croce Giardino Due. You  have a beautiful property, lovingly restored and maintained, in a perfect location for escaping the tourist crush and being part of a real Venetian neighborhood. The garden is complete magic — I don’t think the website photographs do it justice. We will never forget sitting out among its old and interesting plants listening to the local church bells. Cooking in from the nearby grocery store and the Rialto markets was a special pleasure. We would give this property our highest recommendation and we hope to return someday.

I am writing to say how much we enjoyed our stay in Venice recently in Santa Croce. The apartment was well appointed and in a most convenient place within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations, vaporetto stop and supermarket. Early evening was lovely sitting in the local square and watching the children playing and mums and grandparents chatting. The garden was beautiful. We enjoyed a delicious meal in Osteria Alla Zucca which was just around the corner from the supermarket. Thanks again for your help and attention. We have just returned from a week’s stay in Santa Croce Giardino Dueand wanted you to know how absolutely delighted we were. It is a beautiful, well appointed apartment in a lovely quieter part of Venice which we fell in love with. It is well situated for vaporetto stops and a handy supermarket around the corner plus a short walk to the Rialto bridge and its fruit, vegetable and fish markets. The garden was so welcome after a day’s exploring and it was great to sit in it listening to the sound of church bells drinking a nice glass of Prosecco.  We felt more like locals than tourists and will certainly go back again to the same apartment. Hesitate to recommend it too much in case too many other people get to know and we can’t book it ourselves again!! Many thanks for everything you organized: the apartment, and taxis were first class.

I am going through my notes, photos, postcards, and memorabilia from our trip to Venice. We very much enjoyed your little apartment and will recommend it whenever the opportunity arises. We  were thankful for the bit of calming green that your beautiful garden provided after a weary day of wandering around the streets of Venice. Again I write to thank you for helping to make our holiday in Venice so comfortable and enjoyable by allowing us to rent the appartment Santa Croce Giardino Due.  We had a wonderful time exploring Venice again and even managed once to return to the apartment from deepest Dorsoduro without looking at the map!! We found all the favourite shops again, usually by accident, braved the Rialto markets for food shopping, joined in the Salute festivities and explored the Lido and other islands we had not seen three years ago AND visited the newly restored Fenice Opera House (breathtaking!). But there is still more to do and see there and I think more visits will be necessary!!

The apartment is very well appointed and perfectly situated for all our needs. We regard the no.1 Vaporetto as our personal taxi service!  Thank you again for your kind hospitality.

We were very comfortable in your charming appartment and liked the sestiere very much. The greatest fun was had in getting very lost, despite maps, and then recognising a small calle or campo and getting on track again! And thanks to aqua alta we now have very smart new rubber boots (known as ‘ Wellingtons’ in England); none of our English friends have ever seen Venetian high water so we feel very pleased to have experienced it!! We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Venice. We had a warm welcome from the owner. The apartment is delightful – huge garden, wonderful ‘Venetian’ decor, and the neighborhood is perfect – makes you feel a bit more like a ‘local’ and isn’t overrun with other tourists!

Kudos to you and your excellent website – the apartment was exactly as we’d envisioned from the photos, maps and other’s feedback. We stayed at two other rentals during our vacation (Barcelona and southern France) which were great, but none were as flawless and thorough as your website and booking process!
